Dr. James MacInnes has been in active ministry for 30 years. He began traveling with and assisting Gerald Derstine in 1969 to 1970. This then led to a ministry in high schools where he and Bill Bullard (see photo below but please don't laugh!) singing and sharing Jesus often to standing ovations as many came to the Lord. While being a youth speaker at a Kathryn Kuhlman Convention ,Jim was invited on an "airlift" with the FGBMI (Full Gospel Businessmen's International). Because of some dramatic events which included being attacked with knives and the assailant coming to the Lord , he was invited to stay and work in Sweden for a short time. The "short" time became over 25 years! Jim then established the first "Jesus House" in mainland Europe which grew into Ordet Undervisings Center (The Word Teaching Center). This became a center for conferences and teaching all throughout Europe. The ministry included a book publishing house, film ministry, audio tape ministry, Bible school and Conference center. Jim's teaching and preaching ministry encompasses many countries as his heart is for the world. He has been in demand as a speaker and his teaching tapes (which have sold up to 1,000 copies a month) are used in many countries today. He also spent 3 years in Liverpool England and finally found his way back to the United States, and to complete the "circle", is now again assisting Dr. Derstine in Bradenton ,Florida as well as being the Pastor for the Strawberry Lake Retreat Center in Minnesota with Dr. Derstine. Jim is married to Joy, who is from the Philippines. Joy was a dentist and has taught for 15 years at the Davao Medical School Foundation , College of Dentistry and was the Head of the Prosthetic Dentistry Section for years. In between devoting her time with her private practice and teaching ,Joy has been involved in short-term medical outreaches serving different tribes in the the Philippines (especially in the island of Mindanao) , as well as other people group or tribe in the countries of Laos, Burma , Thailand, and the Vietnam border. She was also a volunteer dentist of the Mission arm of her church (Hope of Asia Foundations, Inc.) and to other Mission agencies and organizations as well like the Tribes and Nations Outreach, Tribal Mission Philippines, Operation Blessings of the 700 Club International and the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. She has been actively involved in the Discipleship Program of her home church and has been a cell leader for years. Jim and Joy presently live in Venice, Florida and work together in this ministry as a team. Jim is the author of 5 books that have sold over 60,000 copies in Sweden and Norway. They include: Freedom From Fear (dealing with fear in your life), Song of Victory (a commentary on the song of Deborah), A Worthy Sacrifice (Lessons from Malachi, pictured in Swedish at left), Jutatorpet (an account of the many miracles at the center), Preparation for Victory (lessons on the life of Joshua before he came into the Promised Land)
