About God

We believe that God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. We believe that there is one living and true God that has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

About Jesus Christ

We believe in the peson of Jesus Christ, God's only Begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe He is co-equal with God the Father. We believe in His virgin birth and His sinless human life and how He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead three days after to demonstrate His power over sin and death.

About the Holy Spirit

We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit and that He is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. We believe that the Holy Spirit is present in the world today to convict man of sin and to make them aware of their need for Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation and He is the one that provides the power for living, the ability to understand Biblical spiritual truth and the guidance and empowerment in doing what is right according to Scripture.

About the Bible

We believe that the Bible is God's Word for us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. The entire Bible is God-inspired and inerrant as recorded in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and practice. We believe that the Word of God is the foundation upon which the Church operates and is the basis for which the Church is governed.

About Salvation

We believe that salvation is God's free gift to us and we must a cept it.  We can never make up for our sin by self-effort, self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

We believe in a separate work of grace where the believer is "Baptized in the Holy Spirit". Acts 1:8 says "But ye shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth".

While this is not a requirement for salvation, it gives the Believer a deeper walk and anointing on this life. Jesus commanded His disciples to wait for this and then they recieve "power" or "dunamis"  as it says in Greek.

About Eternity

We believe that people were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin (in Hell), or eternally with God through faith, forgiveness and salvation (in Heaven).

About the Local Church

We believe that Christ is the recognized head of our church, not any person, group, or religious organization. While recognizing the value of associating and cooperating with other groups of Christians, we believe every local church should be self-governing.  We believe there is order and structure in the local church as stated in the Bible. We believe that the church is led by its apostolic leadership and the 5-fold ministry along with elders and deacons.

Priesthood of Believers

The Bible teaches that every Christian has gifts and callings and is called to "full time" Christian service, regardless of his or her vocation. We practice the truth that every believer is a minister by encouraging every member to find a place of service and ministry.

Tithing

Leviticus 26:30 says :" A tithe of everything you produce belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord". At Fisherman's Net Church we practice tithing for the support of Christ's body, the church, as God commands. We recognize that giving 10% of our income is the Biblical standard of giving.

The Gifts of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit as described in 1 Corinthians 12. We believe that each believer has at least one of these listed gifts in 1 Corinthians12:7 which says in the NLT :"A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other".

Marriage

We believe that God created man and that He created them male and female. God created them as such to complement and complete each other. We believe that marriage has been established by God for the purpose of companionship, encouragement, sexual intimacy and procreation.

Telling Others About Christ

We believe that it is the responsibility of every Christian to share the Good News of Salvation with those with whom God brings us into contact.

Second Coming of Christ

We believe in the second coming of Christ when He will return to earth and personally and visibly bring in His Kingdom upon the earth. For this we live and work in anticipation of our union with Jesus.
